 TOMATO GARLIC BATH


Ingredients:

  • Rice  - 1 cup
  • Tomatoes - 3 (big sized) 
  • Boiled Peas - 1/4 cup (optional)
  • Green chillies - 3 (cut into long pieces)
  • Garlic - 15 flakes (finely chopped)
  • Ghee (or) oil - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Grated coconut -  1 tbsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste

For Seasoning:

  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Black gram dhal - 1/4 tsp
  • Bengal gram dhal - 1/4 tsp
  • A pinch of Asafoetida 
  • Cashewnuts - 1 tbsp 
  • Curry leaves - few

For Garnish:

  • Finely chopped coriander leaves

Method:

Grind fresh tomatoes with chilli powder and keep it aside.

Cook rice and allow it cool completely and keep it aside.

Heat ghee or oil, add seasonings with curry leaves and cashewnuts. Add turmeric powder, pepper powder,green chillies and garlic. When it turns into brown add peas , ground tomato puree and cook for 5 to 10 minutes in low flame.

Add rice and mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves and grated coconut.
