PEAS AND CHEESE PAULO


Ingredients:

  • Basmathi rice - 1 cup
  • Green Peas - 1/2 cup
  • Grated cheese - 1/4 cup
  • Ghee - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Onions - 2
  • Green chillies - 4 to 5 
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Mint leaves - 1/4 cup
  • Bay leaf - 1Cloves - 3
  • Coconut milk - 1 cup
  • Salt to taste

Method:

Slice onions and finely chopped green chillies. Cook peas separately till soft.

Wash and soak basmathi rice for 5 minutes. Drain water and fry rice, with 2 tsp of ghee for 3 minutes. keep aside.

Heat a heavy vessel with ghee. Fry masala spices and chopped chillies. Add onions, mint leaves and stir till it becomes crisp. Pour 1 cup water when its starts boiling add salt and coconut milk reduce flame. Cover with a tight lid and cook till rice becomes soft. 

Gently mix in cooked peas. sprinkle grated cheese on top and serve hot.
